Export surevey report in PPT or PDF

Assign Survey task for field team

Survey Task is assigned on web and conducted via mobile app

Contextual collaboration on survey docs

Go inside survey files i.e. images of PDF and initiate contextual collaboration in plangrid/fieldwire style

Context is limited to task/activity but not inside a particular file.

Design Management

RDash has a mini plangrid or a fieldwire built inside the design module where you can store design files, control versions, define approval workflows, and conduct digital review with design marking tools which are accessible both on mobile app as well as browser stack. RDash do not support BIM integration yet, it is a part of its roadmap.

Powerplay has a Drive (DMS, 100GB) priced additionally at INR 47k for 12 Months. This drive is used to maintain any documentation including dsign files however there is no intelligence or story built to cater specifically to design files/requirements/controls.

Design management / versioning

Design versions & change marks.

Design reviews / pin comments

Pin comments directly on design files (PDFs and Images)

Design Approval Workflows

Set-up a maker-checker workflow on design files

Share design files to vendors

Share specific design files to vendors, they get notified on whatsapp/email whenever there is a new version of the file

Project Scope Management / BOQ

RDash offers a fine tuned management of project scope (i.e. BOQ – bill of quantities) wherein you can track client confirmation on individual scope items, create BOQs from master catalogue of items, place order agains BOQ items, assign budget guardrails on BOQ elements, and much more.

Powerplay has a placeholder for a BOQ to upload against which entries are made to update the BOQ to track value of work to be installed in the project.

Powerplay does not focus much on the BOQ, they focus on the schedule. BOQ is a placeholder for the estimated work, nothing more

Change Order Management / NT Item addition is not solved for on PP

Client scope creation & sharing

BOQ authoring & sharing; item-level controls.

Client Scope Vs Order analytics

Automatically throws P&L against BOQ elements for a handy review.

Change order management

Seemlessly track client approval status against BOQ elements. Consolidate all changes in the BOQ and create change order proposal for clients in one click. Client can approve via email without login into the system.

Budget rates on BOQ

Manage both client rates and budget rates against BOQ elements → take charge of the P&L right at the planning stage

Client PO/Invoices & Payments

Track client side documentation in tandem with BOQ progression

Orders

‘Order’ is the second most comprehensive module (after work progress) inside RDash to manage ‘all things payables’ inside a project. You can create an order batch linked to BOQ, set approval permission chain, and automate order creation and communication to vendors. Link orders to your ERP for seamless data management. You can manage supplier’s running invoices and final invoices and initiate payment requests. Also, manage imprest expanses of your site executives.
‘Order’ module allows you to share extend Rdash access (as collaborators) to your vendors and helps you automate reconciliation, change order management, and project tracking with your suppliers.

For Powerplay Orders ia very important since their core proposition lies within construction contractors who at the core want to solve for material and labour overruns.
Inside a project you create material requirements and place orders to vendors. Against orders there is subcontractor mnanagement and Earned Value Anaylysis and for material you can track deliveries.
Material Requests and Indenting is solved along with approvals.

Since entries are manual there is no auto-reconciliation with vendors.

Add Vendors/Client as Collaborators

Piggiback orders with design and survey files so that the respective vendors are alerted when the documents concerning to them undergoes a change

Collaborators cant be added however subcontractor management is part of PP

Approval flow on POs, and Invoices

Configure approval workflows based on amount, roles, and custom configurations

Approval flow can be built but no hierarchy and conditions can be set for multi-level approvals

Rate contracts

Pull order items and rates from the catalogue

Rate contracts can be created on PP

Automatic PO generation

Configure pdf template and standardise terms and conditions to auto-generate and email POs to vendors.

Configure pdf template and standardise terms and conditions to auto-generate and email POs to vendors.

Petty-cash/Imprest management

Site executive can log ‘out-of-pocket’ expanses for a project, can tag it to a vendor orders to auto-create debit logs

Site executive can add expenses and it can be mapped to their petty cash/imprest wallet and simple easy to read dashboards have been created for the same. It is a focus area for Powerplay

Vendor Descoping and Debits

Modifying orders is seamless, Rdash auto flags the modification in the supplier orders and creates an audit trail

Modifying orders is possible and there is an audit trail. Orders can be edited to solve for descoping however it is not linked to overall vendor level ledger.

Payment Terms Standardisation

Standardise payment terms which can be easility pulled on a project with a drop down

Can be standardised for different types of orders/placeholder is there

Vendor wise DPRs

Track vendor stated progress inside a project

DPR is standardised – No Vendor wise DPRs

Reverse Bidding/ RFQ

Part of Rdash Roadmap. The Reverse bidding will be shipped AI native which will allow you take quotation from the Rdash ecosystem of GCs and SCs as well.

There in the Custom Plan (7L+) not in other modules. Depth not explored

Installed Progress Tracking

RDash helps you establish a mechanism to capture installed % on the client scope (BOQ) at weekly or monthly frequency to be on top of their invoicing, collection, and monthly P&L. You can Configure item types and the progress tracking milestones to different item types. E.g. Production items such as furniture can be tracked in milestones such a Material Procured → Structuring Done → Ready for dispatch → Installed a site etc. while the site updates such a progress on ‘Raft foundation’ can be tracked in exact quantities or percentages. Rdash helps you track the real installed value of work against your client invoicing & cashflows, helping you control your exposure risk on a project.

Powerplay tracks subcontractor work done through earned value mechanism which can be linked to milestones. This is however linked to Activity where individual activities have material and labour allocated to them and based on cost incurred the Progress (Installed Value) is tracked

Item type linked tracking milestones

Site supervisor has an intuitive mobile interface to log the installed progress

All milestones and tracking are linked to individual activities made in the project task schedule

Safeguards against mis-reporting

Intuitive safeguards built out-of-box that aligns the site supervisors to report the correct progress without fudging the numbers

No. Controls are low and misreporting can happen

Installed Revenue Vs Invoicing Vs Collection

Out-of-box management dashboards that allows you to be on top of your cashflows in a project

Yes. Can be calculated and visualised through Dashbords. It is challenging to record NT items and get approvals on them though.

Activity Tracking – Site Schedules

RDash offers a fine tuned management of project scope (i.e. BOQ – bill of quantities) wherein you can track client confirmation on individual scope items, create BOQs from master catalogue of items, place order agains BOQ items, assing budget guardrails on BOQ elements, and much more.

Compatible with MS Excel

Planned vs Actual work timelines

Track how far behind or ahead you are on your planned schedule

You can track timeline + resource + material + labour

Multilevel Activity grouping

Nesting of activities like the way it is in MSP or P6

Custom payment for Gantt Chart – Not included in standard plan

Link dependencies

Manage all four types of dependencies to arrive on a critical path

All 4 types of dependencies available

Easy Mobile accessebility from site

Site supervisors find it much easier to update from mobile

Site teams use mobile app / easy to use

Import Excel & MSP

Seamlessly Import MSP file to Rdash and Rdash file to MSP

Excel import is active. MSP is not.

Materials

RDash offers a fine tuned management of project scope (i.e. BOQ – bill of quantities) wherein you can track client confirmation on individual scope items, create BOQs from master catalogue of items, place order agains BOQ items, assing budget guardrails on BOQ elements, and much more.

Powerplay helps you allocate material inside a project and further allocation can be done on a task/activity. Material Inventory tracking along with material requests/indenting and transfers can be done.
Material is a very important module for PP.

You can track estimated vs actual material on PP which is currently unsolved on RDash on an activity level

Make GRNs of stock recieved

Inward materials on site from orders or adhoc purchases.

You can make GRNs ajnd further issue the material to any contractor on site

Maintain Current stock at Site

Link Material inventory to catalogue and have a live tracking of unutilised material inventory in the entire network

Material stock/usage is linked to the allocation done inside the project/individual tasks or activtties. It is easy to track status of material on PP

Inter-Site Material Transfer

Move materials systematically in and out of the site without slippage

Material can be transferred and moved along with issue

DPR – Daily Progress Report

RDash captures 360 degree update of movement in BOQ Scope Installed, Activities Progressed, Materials GRN and Stock consumptions etc. into a single comprehensive report which is circulated to subscribers on whatsapp.

Progress reports can be generated linked to activities/labour and material into a comprehensive report.
It has manual entry points and is not as deep as the RDash DPR but it is simple to use, reason being it does not have linkages and checks in place.

360 Degree Progress Reporting

RDash’s DPR pull progress reported on different fronts (Activity Progress, Design Changes, Snags etc.) of a project via different stakeholders to make one single and comprehensive report of the day for leadership and the client.

Yes but limited control levers to safeguard against mis-reporting

Site View Points

You can designate camera angles to capture photographs from. Helps in generative comparatives for the purpose of weekly or monthly progress reports

Photos captured with geo-tags and time stamp by default – View point cannot be defined but workaround can be done

Manage DPR Subscribers

DPRs are generally circulated on whatsapp in form of PDF, you can manage the recipients on Rdash

Yes howveer not at front end as easy as RDash

Weekly/Monthly Progress Reports

Select a date range to export the progress reports

Yes Can be custom generated

Quality Management/Snags

RDash’s Snag module inside a project takes care of recording of client with right categorisation, Assignment to team or vendor and export a report with committed closure dates.

QA/QC Checklist can be used to solve for Snags however it is an add-on module that is separately charged on Powerplay. Assignment to individuals can be done however

Easy Snag Creation

Capture, categorise, and assign snags to vendors from mobile app

Snag cannot be created separately but a pre-defined checklist with pointers and updates from sites can be given by the projects team on pre-filled questions

Preloaded Categorisation & list of Snags

Bucketise snags in categories, helps in prioritising rectification and enforcing quality norms

Assign Snag to team or vendor

Map snags to vendor or a to a responsible person with commitment dates

Yes – Snags can be created as activities and assigned to vendors

Excel/PDF/PPT Import and Export

Import/Export snag reports in desired format to share with external users

Export QA/QC Checklist is there – Import from Excel is not possible

Task Manager

Turn every piece of information i.e. a photograph, an order element, expense request, snag etc. into a shared workspace. Go inside the design files or photographs and initiate conversation at a specific places within the document.

On Powerplay Tasks are activities that enter the schedule. If I want to create a task outside of the schedule, I can create a task, select the category and assign it to a person who will be able to view it in their task manager and give me % and photographic update against the progress made.
Tasks can’t be created everywhere on the project, they can only be initiated in isolation and details are to be added and allocation is done

Context on every task

Tasks can be on a specific context within a project, on a project, or outside a project

Tasks can be given context manually but do not pick it up from the plaeholder/line item since there is no direct linkage between the task and other things in the software. A task on PP is nothing but an activity assigned to someone with a timeline and may require material and labour for completion

Auto Task Bucketisation

Undrstands whats important for you to address and flags it up

Bucketisation based on due dates are there on PP

Self Reminder

Intuite Superhuman [email client] type interface and keyboard shortcuts to finish tasks, set reminder and much more

Internal Escalations

Tasks work like an email thread, you can update files, add or remove stakeholders from the thread

You can bring in more people into the task and add files/data to loop in others for escalations but there is no auto built escalation matrix

Notifications, Approvals, and, Escalations in one place

All notifications are by default powered on Whatsapp/Email; configurable on user roles

Notifications are powered through Whatsapp, email and PP push notifications.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE : THERE IS NO HIERARCHY ON APPROVALS – ALL APPROVERS ARE SIMULTANEOUSLY SENT THE REQUEST AT THE SAME TIME AND NO APPROVAL MATRIX/CONDITIONS CAN BE BUILT TO TRIGGER ONE APPROVAL AFTER THE OTHER IN HIERARCHY

Catalogue

RDash allows you to create master catalogues of items called ‘Libraries’ which can be used to create BOQs. Master catalogue typically has comprehensive list of elements you are procuring or creating BOQs with. You can also store supplier rate contracts on the master catalogue. The catalogues also powers account management workflows for your key clients where you can build master catalogues for key accounts and share it with them.

Powerplay gives standard material ibraries to clients to get started. There is an option to update specific master catalogues by clients for their specific operations and can be used to create BOQs / Activities and Orders.

Comprehensive Element Master

Store deep information like Specs, Make type, QC guideliens, Production drawing and much more on element level

Catalogue Export

Export master catalogue in CSV to share with vendors and clients. Third party can access deep information behind the element without login into the system

Extensibility to clients and vendors

Extend catalogues to your vendor → direct them to create BOQs for you from the catalogue shared. This helps in use cases such as mass roll out of ‘standard specs’ projects such as retail, schools etc.

Manage supplier rate contracts

Store vendor rate contracts on catalogues

Extensibility

You can share your project access to your clients and vendors to automate reconciliation and improve accountability.

You cannot share projects (platform access) to clients and vendors and only docs/PDF will be exposed to 3rd party. For platform access, contractors and clients

Data Access

Provide controlled access to survey and design files

Snag Management

Manage snags at two levels. One that are reported to client, other which are just between GC and sub-contractor

NA – QA Checklist can be approved but no bifurcation on Client / GC-Sub Contractor level

Documentation Management

Create document funnels and checklist while enforcing approval metrics

DMS and QA Module can support documentation management. Inside tasks/activities certain files can be stored

Change order management

Your vendors can propose scope changes in the order and similarly you can request change orders from your client

Since there is no vendor/contractor access, any changes are redirected through Site team who intern raise requests which are routed through PM/Purchase for Change. Cannot be directly done on PP

Two level progress tracking

Your team provides tracking on full scope, while vendor provides his own reporting on the scope assigned to the vendor

Third Party Consultants/Architects

Extend project access to MEP consultants, Architects and PMCs with access control rights to manage your project on your behalf

AI

A powerful co-pilots powers queries such as: we need 21 more days on ABC project, create a delay report to ask time extension without any delay penalties.Help me improve my P&L by 2%. What are the pending PO approvals on me? Approve all.

Powerplay does not have a Co-Pilot or AI model to power their projects however unaware of any future developments in their roadmap

Chat History

Multiple GPT like chat threads which steers the personalisation for the user

Semantic Data Layer

Live human readable data flow fed to LLM with RAG and Context Orchestration and out-of-box fine-tuning

Tooling

Visualisation tooling to render graphs, tables, Can export CSVs, Remembers past conversations.

Job Specific Agents

Started with two agents i.e. “How to operate RDash” and “Analytics Agents.” More job specific agents around procurement, project planning, Quantification, Reconciliation are in the roadmap

Mobile Experience

Most comprehensive and simple to use UI/UX for field team that powers things far beyond just project tracking

Simple to use interface for site/project teams

Conduct Site Surveys

Guided mobile app powered workflow for survey that works in shaky network access

Can be done through QA/QC Checklists but no specific workflow for Site Surveys

Create Change Orders Requests in the client sclope

Create and manage client scope from the App itself

Internal scope can be managed but not client scope directly from the app

Create supplier Orders

Generate supplier orders and Purchase Requisitions from the App.

Yes. They have orders/requests/indenting directly from the mobile app

Review Design Files

Open and contextually collaborate on design files

NA. Through additional paid module of DMS, design files can be uploaded and viewed by team but no way of contextual collaboration

Log Imprest Expenses

Log expense enteries with custom fields and push to approval chain

Imprest and Petty Cash Management is well solved on Powerplay on a Project and a User Level. Easy to use UI

Update Activity Schedules

Intuitive UI to manage and update on complex schedule co-operated by mulptiple stakeholders

Activities/Tasks can be updated along with material and labour consumption required which is linked to overall project plan

Update Installed Scope

Declare what % of BOQ is currently installed via mobile app

Subcontractor management on the basis of work allocated and updation of work done against activities (not BOQ) will help look at earned value analysis but tracking a not a % of BOQ is not possible.

Generate DPRs

Supports complex workflows of multiple engineers working on different sections of a project, auto compiles entire progress in a day in a single report

Supports DPR generation by individuals. Auto compiles progress in a report however linakages to BOQ missign and auto compilation of multiple engineer’s work does not happen automatically.

Snag/Quality Management

Create and assign snags to vendors, track closures

Cannot be assined directly to vendors since they are not exposed to the platform unless added as users. Internal teams can manage through QA/QC

Task Managements

Create and manage tasks, give approvals on the go

Create tasks or activities which are part of the schedule. Approval flow is missing here

Why You Should Choose RDash Over Powerplay

RDash is a comprehensive project management solution ideal for mid-market to Enterprise grade clients with high-touch deployment support. In contrast, Powerplay is tailored primarily for project teams with limited control guardrails.

RDash automates the entire project lifecycle, from survey to handover, facilitating seamless collaboration on a single platform. RDash’s implementation approach makes it a viable choice for a wide range of construction companies whether deploying a software for the first time or covering gaps that remain unsolved despite ERP implementation. Against this, Powerplay comes with a standard cookie-cutter deployment approach which may or may not fit every organisation.
